PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Faculty of Pharmacy is presenting a five years under-graduate Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) program for those candidates who are interested to pursue a career in the fields of Health and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Pharmacy Program at BHU is designed to enhance the professional skills for the practical application in all fields of Pharmacy profession through a carefully developed syllabus so that our graduates can fulfill the increasing demand of Pharmacist. The pharmacy graduate can also continue their studies at BHU, where we are planning to provide an opportunity to study up to PhD Level.

Our highly qualified teaching faculty will ensure the progress in right direction along with their research exposure in different fields of Pharmaceutical Sciences. We aspire to meet the international standards in conjunction with both national and international Pharmacy accreditation programs; hence, preparing our professionals to explore the opportunities available in Pakistan and abroad.

Pharm D at BHU

  • Is an exclusive and comprehensive pharmacy covering various disciplines of Pharmacy profession
  • Program is a distinctive combination of basic medical, pharmaceutical and Management Sciences centered on hands-on-clinical, industrial skills and training on interpersonal and communication skills
  • Is the only program in the whole country which is guided by Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE-USA) to cater IPL (Inter-Professional Learning) and SLiP (Service Learning in Pharmacy) with an innovation in pedagogical approach.
  • Teaching approach is based on “SPICES” (Student-centered, Practice based, Integrated, Community bases, Electives and System Approaches), which has proven to be the gold standard in Pharmacy Education.

Program Objectives

The Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program aims to produce Pharmacist:

  • Are par excellence in the area of Pharmaceutical care, clinical care and research
  • Are leaders in Pharmacy education, practice and industry
  • Provide state of the Art Patient Care and Community Services
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop and implement evidence-based programs and protocols, constructed upon the analysis epidemiological data, pharmaco-economics, medication-use data and risk reduction strategies
  • Develop new drugs and interventions through their learning and capabilities
  • Deliver services to the community with commitment, professionalism and ethical responsibilities

Entry Requirements

The applicant should:

  • Have 60% marks in HSC (Pre-Medical) or 60% marks in A-level or equivalent qualification
  • Qualify the Aptitude Test and Interview
